Snoring and Sleepwell appliances

Snoring commonly occurs when the tissues of the airway relax during sleep, narrowing the space available for air to pass through and causing vibration. For suitable patients, a custom-made dental appliance can help reduce snoring and improve sleep quality.

We use the S4S Sleepwell appliance, which is individually made to fit comfortably over your teeth. It works by gently holding the lower jaw in a more forward position while you sleep, helping to keep the airway more open and reduce snoring.

The appliance is adjustable, allowing us to gradually find a comfortable and effective position for you. Assessment before treatment is important, particularly where there are symptoms that could indicate obstructive sleep apnoea, which may require further medical investigation.
